Accountability & Accuracy

Corrections Policy

LBNN holds itself to the standard that accuracy is not a goal it is a baseline obligation. When we fall short, we correct promptly, transparently, and without qualification.

Accuracy Is Non-Negotiable

LBNN the pan-African business, financial, and economic intelligence platform operated by Limitless Beliefs Consulting is committed to producing reporting that is accurate, fair, and verifiable. We cover complex macroeconomic developments, capital markets, sovereign energy deals, and institutional finance across 54 African markets. The stakes of inaccuracy in these domains are real: misreported figures can affect investment decisions, policy interpretation, and public understanding of Africa's economic trajectory.

We take this responsibility seriously. When errors occur whether factual, statistical, attributional, or contextual we correct them as quickly as possible, disclose them clearly, and do not alter records silently.

"A correction is not a failure of credibility. Refusing to make one is."

Types of Corrections

LBNN classifies corrections into three tiers based on materiality and editorial impact. Each tier carries a distinct response protocol.

Tier Error Type Examples Response
Minor Typographical or spelling errors that do not affect meaning Misspelled proper nouns, punctuation errors, formatting inconsistencies Corrected silently; no correction notice required
Standard Factual errors that affect accuracy but not the article's core conclusion Incorrect GDP figure, wrong fund size, incorrect date of an event Correction notice appended to article with original error disclosed
Material Errors that fundamentally alter the meaning, conclusion, or fairness of reporting Misattributed quote, wrong party named, incorrect regulatory outcome Prominent correction notice; original subject notified; social correction issued if originally shared

The Correction Process

01

Report

An error is identified by a reader, a subject of coverage, a source, or internally by the editorial team.

02

Verify

The editorial team independently confirms the error against primary sources before any correction is published.

03

Classify

The error is classified by tier (Minor, Standard, or Material) and the appropriate response protocol is applied.

04

Correct

The article is updated. For Standard and Material errors, a timestamped correction notice is appended below the article body.

05

Disclose

Material corrections are communicated to the original subject of coverage and noted publicly if the article was widely distributed.

06

Record

All Standard and Material corrections are logged internally for editorial quality review and pattern analysis.

How Corrections Appear on Articles

Standard and Material corrections will appear at the bottom of the article in the following format:

CORRECTION — [Date]: An earlier version of this article stated [original incorrect information]. This has been corrected to reflect [accurate information]. LBNNTV regrets the error.

We do not delete original versions of articles that contained errors. We do not alter article text silently for Standard or Material errors. We do not use vague language such as "updated" or "revised" as a substitute for a specific correction notice.

Where an error was introduced by a third-party source or data provider that LBNNTV cited in good faith, we will note this in the correction while still correcting the record in our own publication.

Right of Reply

Individuals, institutions, corporations, and governments that are subjects of LBNN coverage have the right to request a correction or clarification. Requests must specify:

(1) The article in question, identified by URL and publication date.
(2) The specific statement believed to be inaccurate.
(3) The factual basis for the correction request, with supporting documentation where available.

LBNN will acknowledge receipt of all correction requests within five business days and will provide a substantive response including our editorial determination within ten business days. Where we determine a correction is warranted, it will be published within 48 hours of that determination.

Disagreement with LBNN's editorial framing, analysis, or conclusions does not constitute a factual error and will not result in a correction. We distinguish between errors of fact and differences of interpretation.

What LBNN Does Not Do

LBNN does not remove articles from publication in response to commercial, political, or reputational pressure. We do not alter the substance of published reporting to accommodate external requests unless a factual error has been independently verified.

We do not accept payment in exchange for corrections, retractions, or editorial changes of any kind. Any such approach will be declined and, where appropriate, disclosed.

We do not issue corrections to satisfy public relations campaigns, legal threats without merit, or reader disagreement with editorial conclusions.
