WIOCC, Africa’s Digital Backbone, Enables Kenya’s ISPs, Carriers and
MSPs to Seamlessly Scale with Reliable, Tailored Connectivity Solutions
As Kenya’s telecom market grows rapidly, fuelled by improved international connectivity and infrastructure development, WIOCC is equipping Internet Service Providers (ISPs), Systems Integrators, Carriers, Managed Service Providers
(MSPs) and other telcos with scalable, high-performance digital infrastructure.
Renowned as Africa’s Carriers’ Carrier, WIOCC is providing robust, future-proof solutions designed to improve the service reliability, reach and efficiency of its clients’ networks.
Whether enabling ISPs to boost their capacity or helping systems integrators expand coverage, WIOCC’s open-access digital infrastructure is tailored to ensure businesses
remain competitive while delivering exceptional quality to end users.
This infrastructure not only broadens their clients’ business opportunities but ensures they can meet the growing
demand for reliable, low-latency connectivity and prepare for future customer needs across the region.
With the completion of the Mombasa Metro Network, WIOCC delivers unmatched connectivity by interconnecting all major data centres in Mombasa.
This strategic infrastructure allows clients to seamlessly scale their operations and access high-capacity
bandwidth at key data centres and cable landing stations across Mombasa County.
In addition, a protected National Long Distance (NLD) network is being built between Nairobi and Mombasa and a Metro Network in Nairobi County set to be completed by the end of Q4
2024.
The next phase, planned for Q2 2025, will see the network extended to other counties and the borders with neighbouring countries.
James Wekesa, WIOCC Group’s Chief Commercial Officer, highlights: “Through our significant investments in subsea assets, terrestrial fibre and metro networks, we are uniquely positioned to support the growing connectivity demands of the region and position Kenya as a leading innovation hub in Africa. Our investments enhance the ability to
interconnect traffic from the 2Africa cable to other major systems such as SEACOM, EASSy, DARE1, PEACE and TEAMS, offering diversity and flexible service delivery across multiple
data centres based on our client requirements.”
WIOCC’s interconnected ecosystem provides unparalleled, tailor-made solutions, enabling clients to access resilient infrastructure and connect to their customer locations with
enhanced reliability.
By offering multiple, diverse routes that reduce latency for real-time
services and provide backup options, WIOCC ensures flexible service delivery across key data centres while mitigating the risks of network outages, enabling business growth and the exploration of new market opportunities.
“We remain dedicated to bridging the digital divide by expanding open-access infrastructure across Africa. With these initiatives, we aim to foster a more connected and digitally
empowered future for our clients and the communities they serve. By partnering with WIOCC, our clients can confidently expand their service offerings, enhance their customer
experiences and tap into new markets,” Wekesa added.
