The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Nyesom Wike, has pledged that the administration of President Bola Tinubu will ensure that every district in the nation’s capital is equipped with essential infrastructure.

Wike made this commitment on Wednesday in Abuja during the launch of a 3.2-kilometre dual carriageway project connecting Ahmadu Bello Way to Mabushi District. This initiative also includes the development of additional road networks within the area.

He emphasized that the President has mandated that infrastructure must be established before any new districts are created.

“I want to make it clear today that we will not rest until all districts are linked by quality roads. This is crucial because a well-developed road network is what makes a city truly livable,” he stated.

“For a city like Abuja, we have no option but to continue enhancing basic infrastructure, including a robust road network, to ensure it remains a worthy capital,” he added.

Wike noted that the improved road network would stimulate economic activities in the district and alleviate the challenges residents face when navigating the city.

He explained that the Federal Executive Council has approved the project and assured the contractor that sufficient budgetary allocations have been made to ensure its completion by May 2025.

Additionally, he stated that no project initiated under the Tinubu administration would extend beyond its term.
