With big things expected from the US stock market this year, there is no shortage of high-potential company shares being traded. Yet, with the growing trends and projections, it could be a three-horse race. Indeed, could Apple (AAPL), Nvidia (NVDA), or Microsoft (MSFT) end up running Wall Street in 2025?

Each of the three companies comes with reason for investors to be excited. Moreover, each of them sits as one of the top three largest companies by market cap in the world. With Nvidia leading the stock market last year, much of the same is expected. But could Apple or Microsoft have something to say about that over the next twelve months?

The last year has seen the tech sector thrive. However, it has more or less been carried by the power of the Magnificent 7. With those companies looking to repeat this year, all eyes are on what may well be the three most prominent stocks in the US stock market.

When it comes down to brass tax, Apple, Nvidia, or Microsoft emerge as the most promising three stocks set to lead Wall Street in 2025. But which will come out on top? The trio remains the only company with a market cap above the $3.1 trillion mark, with eyes on increasing that over the next year.

The reality is that the battle will likely come down to Apple and Nvidia. The chipmaker and iPhone developer had jockeyed for first place atop the market cap rankings for much of last year. Although Microsoft is still a strong buy option this year, it would need to rise 16% to knock off current leader Apple.

Apple has maintained its position atop the market cap race since 2011. It is the dominant brand in consumer technologies, with iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches dominating every city in America.

However, it does not have the same eyeballs that Nvidia has. The company has seen its GPUs dominate the conversation. That is especially crucial, as it leads the ongoing AI demand wave ravaging Wall Street.

A look at revenue growth tells two different stories. Nvidia has jumped from $30 billion in revenue two years ago to surpassing $100 billion. that is only expected to continue, with many analysts projecting continued growth over the next two years.

Alternatively, Apple has not had the same level of dominance as far as its revenue figures. Although they come in much higher than the chipmaker, they’ve stayed more or less the same. Yet, that isn’t the whole story. Despite seemingly stunted growth, it’s stock is up 42%.

Its value has increased because investors have shown a willingness to pay more for its inflated earnings. Therefore, the biggest question is whether or not the current investors should value earnings over growth.

It appears as though the growth should eventually lead the stock ahead of Apple, and that is a safe bet for 2025. Therefore, after a jump of more than 170% last year, Nvidia should be counted on to overtake Apple and Microsoft once again in 2025 and run Wall Street.
