PRETORIA – The African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF) is excited to announce the launch of two guidebooks titled,
Efficient Acquisition, Implementation and Maintenance of Integrated Revenue Administration Systems in Africa
and
The Efficient Taxation of the Informal Sector in Africa.
The two books are manuals which can be used by ICT and informal sector tax experts regularly, to improve not only their administrative processes but political, legal, and institutional environments, to strengthen both sectors.
These guidebooks are aimed at providing African tax authorities with tools to improve the two key components of domestic tax for effective revenue mobilisation.

What can I expect?
Engaging conversations around strengthening domestic taxation in Africa with seasoned tax experts. You can also expect debate about various pragmatic ways of implementing the proposed informal sector taxation guidelines in African countries.
The guidebooks are the outcome of two 24-month research projects, on the efficient taxation of the informal sector in Africa and effective ICT systems for African tax administrations, respectively.
This has been made possible with the financial support of the AfDB and contributions from tax administration ICT and informal sector taxation technical experts from across Africa.
