Close readers of this site and our newsletters will notice some changes. Briefly, here is what’s happening:

At long last, Wealth Management has officially dropped the anachronistic “dot com” from the publication’s name—in essence, no more Wealthmanagement.com, we are now Wealth Management.

This is, for many, a distinction without much difference, as Wealth Management has been the colloquial name for some time. However, in official usage, the “dot com” went from being a modern moniker intended to convey a “digital-first” orientation to an out-of-date nomenclature held over from the earliest days of the internet. We recognize it’s an anachronism, and the official change reaffirms our commitment to be a trusted resource for financial advisors, RIAs and wealth leaders, whether online, in print or in person.

Our URL, of course, remains the same, as does our commitment to informing financial advisors about industry happenings, providing useful data and research, and facilitating content and conversations at live events.

There are also some other stylistic changes here, most notably in our logo with the addition of our corporate parent Informa’s name. Informa is a global events and business intelligence company with a mission statement to “champion the specialist.”

That accurately describes what we aim to do for our audience, and increasingly, we are finding ways to both benefit from and contribute to efforts by our corporate colleagues. It’s an exciting initiative internally, and there are many ways our audience can benefit from the broader Informa universe of businesses, particularly through Informa’s global events and data in the financial services sector. More to come on that. In the meantime, as always, we welcome your comments and suggestions.
