Vodacom Tanzania is set to invest over USD 100 million in one of its largest-ever modernization programs, upgrading thousands of network sites and IT systems, including the M-PESA platform.
The initiative will enhance data speeds, call quality, and cybersecurity while expanding digital access in both urban and rural areas.
Already, more than 1,000 sites in the Lake Zone, Southern Highlands, and central regions have been upgraded. The program also supports Vodacom Group’s Vision 2030 and Net Zero 2035 goals, introducing energy-efficient infrastructure that reduces power use by up to 30% and incorporates Huawei’s green technologies to boost 4G and 5G performance.
