Prevention can be one of the best forms of medicine, and the return of the pop-up health bus on Tuesday 27 June makes it easier for residents to access health information locally, receive practical advice and routine checks and have a chance to talk with health experts.
The health bus will be parked outside of Whitton Social Centre 111A Kneller Road, Whitton, Twickenham, TW2 7DT, on Tuesday 27 June from 10am to 4pm.
There are no appointments necessary. Healthcare professionals such as a local pharmacist and a social prescribing worker will be available to offer a range of checks and advice, including:
- A quick diabetes risk assessment
- Blood pressure checks
- Tips on managing and reducing your risk for several diseases, including type 2 diabetes, cancer and heart disease
- Tips to stay healthy and active and help to stop smoking
- Information about what local services may be best suited for you
If you have any questions or concerns about your health, or on behalf of your family, friends, or someone you care for, please do come along and have a chat. Find out about local health and wellbeing services, as well as what you can do to stay healthy and active.
