The US Department of Defense has commissioned telecommunications company Ovzon to provide additional Ovzon T7 satellite terminals.

This technology is a compact, lightweight, and efficient broadband satellite terminal designed for data transmission and reception at higher speeds than typical L Band terminals. This is the first mobile terminal adjusted for the new Ovzon 3 satellite and its On-Board-Processor.

In a press release, Ovzon CEO Per Norén stated that the company is “delighted to see an expansion of Ovzon mobile satellite terminals from such an important customer.”

“The US DOD’s continued investment and trust in Ovzon SATCOM-as-a-Service validates that our focus on performance, mobility and resiliency is right for mission critical organizations,” he added.

Ovzon has collaborated with the US for over a decade, earlier this year, the DOD was the first customer to order the Ovzon T7, which became operational in July 2024.
