The US Army has awarded General Dynamics Land Systems another low-rate initial production contract for the M10 Booker Combat Vehicle.

The $322.7-million contract modifies an identical contract awarded in June, with an estimated completion date of October 20, 2026.

General Dynamics was originally awarded a $1.14-billion contract in 2022 to build as many as 96 low-rate initial production M10s.

Subsequent contracts were awarded in June 2023 and January 2024.

Future Procurement Plans

The US Army intends to procure more than 504 Bookers by 2035.

Initial operational testing and evaluation are planned for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2024.

The first Booker-equipped Infantry Brigade Combat Team (IBCT) unit is planned for the last quarter of fiscal 2025, consisting of a battalion of 42 vehicles.

“The M10 Booker provides IBCTs with a safe and effective platform to complete their mission – one that may include bunkers, machine guns or armored vehicles,” General Dynamics Land Systems VP for US operations Gordon Stein said.

“We are honored to continue to manufacture the M10 Booker Combat Vehicle.”

The tracked vehicle resembles a light tank with a 105 mm main direct-fire cannon, supported by a 12.7 mm M2HB heavy machine gun and a 7.62 mm M240B machine gun.

Its rapid movement in a variety of terrain offers freedom of movement and survivability on the battlefield.

The vehicle can accommodate a crew of four and has an operational range of up to 350 miles (560 kilometers) and a maximum speed of 45 miles (72 kilometers) per hour.
