Ukraine has unveiled its advanced Poseidon H10 MkIII unmanned aerial system (UAS), designed to enhance reconnaissance capabilities on the battlefield.
Initially contracted for testing in 2022, the drone is equipped with cutting-edge technology, including a high-resolution camera and thermal imager for optimal performance in various operational settings.
Built with increased resistance to electronic warfare, the Poseidon H10 MkIII is well-suited for frontline use, where Russian jamming is prevalent.
It can also autonomously avoid threats and return to base safely, even in challenging weather conditions.
The UAS has recently been approved for official deployment by Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense.
Additional Capabilities
The Poseidon H10 MkIII features a powerful electric motor, enabling it to reach altitudes of up to 5,000 meters (16,404 feet).
It can also fly at speeds of up to 150 kilometers (93 miles) per hour and has an operational range of 150 kilometers.
“The aircraft [is] equipped with electric engines and a modern navigation system. It operates in temperatures ranging from −20°C to +45°C, even in strong winds,” Deputy Defense Minister Dmytro Klimenkov explained.
“The battery charge lasts for several hours of continuous operation. The operational altitude of these drones is beyond the reach of many enemy air defense systems.”
The drone is particularly effective for counteroffensive operations, aiding ground forces in locating and neutralizing threats with increased efficiency.
