The Ukrainian military has tested an artificial intelligence-based remote-controlled turret that can identify a target and fire bullets at it.
Local robotics developer devDroid’s THP combat module is designed to protect strongholds from enemy fires and attack drones.
Its induction with Ukrainian mechanized units is reportedly being proposed to enhance their combat capabilities, both in offensive and defensive operations.

AI-Driven
The system detects an adversary and calculates its location, the National Guard of Ukraine explained on their Facebook page.
The module’s AI calculates the ballistics and helps aim the barrel toward the target.
Upon detection, the weapon rises 30 centimeters from the trench and relays a signal to the operator, who, in turn, orders a fire.
It can detect, track, and lock on a target from a distance of one kilometer (0.62 miles).
It can be placed in a trench up to 80 centimeters (31 inches) deep for camouflage and for protection from enemy fire and munition debris.
“The mission of our company is to save the lives of our guys and train the turrets to kill Russian soldiers on Ukrainian soil without human participation,” devDroid’s owner Yuriy Poritsky explained.
Multiple Configurations
The 300,000 Ukrainian hryvnia ($8,260) turret can be deployed on ground and military vehicles such as infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers.
The module weighs around 35 kilograms (77 pounds), while the vehicle-based configuration is 110 kilograms (242 pounds).
It can be armed with weapons such as 7.62mm tank machine guns, the AK-47, AK-74, and Grot machine gun.
