President Volodymyr Zelensky said Friday that Ukraine needs more air defense systems to protect civilians, speaking from the site of a recent Russian missile attack that killed several children.
“You know that Ukraine has a shortage of air defense systems,” Zelensky said in a video address from Kryvyi Rig, his home city, where a Russian strike last week killed 19 people, including nine children.
“You know that Patriot systems can effectively protect against ballistic threats. I ask you to focus first of all on air defense for Ukraine. We truly need it. Ten Patriot systems — the free world has them.”
