Turkish firms ARES Shipyard and Meteksan Defense will deliver two new versions of the ULAQ armed unmanned sea vehicle to the Turkish Naval Forces, the state agency reported.

The systems are the ULAQ 12 unmanned surface vessel designed for anti-surface warfare (ASuW) and the kamikaze unmanned marine vehicle ULAQ KAMA.

Both systems are currently undergoing testing and are expected to be delivered this year.

ULAQ 12 ASuW

The ULAQ 12 ASuW features autonomous control and artificial intelligence capabilities, allowing coordinated operations with other unmanned platforms.

It is equipped with encrypted data communication for secure information exchange and features day and night vision systems for enhanced situational awareness.

The vessel is built with a modular structure, enabling integration with different payloads based on mission needs.

The ULAQ 12 ASuW integrates a 12.7 mm remote-controlled weapon station and a Roketsan missile control system capable of launching laser-guided missiles.

The 12-meter (21-foot) boat has completed initial tests and is set for delivery to the Turkish Naval Forces after the final testing phase.

ULAQ KAMA

ULAQ KAMA kamikaze boat measures 6.5 meters (21 feet) in length and is equipped with a 200-kilogram (440-pound) explosive payload capable of withstanding bullets and shrapnel.

The vessel features a target selection algorithm that can identify and engage targets during communication outages and initiate attacks autonomously.

ULAQ KAMA has passed tests for detonation on land, while it also serves as an intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance platform.
