The strong presence of hospitality firms like Hilton and Marriott suggests that the industry is prioritizing employee well-being, while the inclusion of Wegmans Food Markets underscores the importance of workplace culture in retail.

Accenture’s ranking further emphasizes the growing focus on employee support in consulting and IT services.

As of 2025, Mastercard, Hilton and Marriot are some of the few companies with a significant presence in Africa that made it onto Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For.

Hilton secured the top position, while Marriott ranked eighth. Meanwhile, Mastercard was placed at 61st.

These companies were also recognized for their strong workplace culture, commitment to employee well-being, diversity, and career development opportunities.

To qualify for the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For list, organizations must have at least 1,000 U.S. employees and cannot be government agencies.

Last year, over 8.4 million employees were surveyed, with more than 1.3 million responses, including over 670,000 from employees at eligible companies for the 2025 ranking.

Overall, the list indicates a broader shift across industries toward prioritizing workplace excellence as a key factor in long-term success.
