Expanding access to and lowering the cost of internet access has a direct influence on people’s lives in today’s tech era. Companies, and whole economies, especially on a young continent like Africa, cannot afford to be without the internet and broadband access significantly solves this problem.

Affordably priced internet not only reliefs an economy is particularly important for those within the youth demographic who are still attempting to establish financial stability, via innovative and fresh ideas.

Access to the internet ensures that these young minds have access to a large number of networks and resources that can support them on their own paths.

Furthermore, the tech industry in Africa is growing swiftly, with startups, SMEs, and even the informal sector depending more and more on the internet to run their businesses.

This makes it clear that having access to reasonably priced broadband service is essential. For this reason, a few nations on the continent have made sure that their citizens can access the internet for the least amount of money. However, some fall short of this initiative, boasting broadband prices that discourage tech adoption.

Below are the top 10 African countries with the least affordable broadband internet according to the Global broadband pricing league table 2024 report by Cable, a UK based company which offers extensive pricing comparisons and expert evaluations to help people make informed decisions regarding their telecom requirements.
