Numerous industries in Africa are impacted by the increase in diesel prices, including transportation, agriculture, and overall living expenses. This is particularly true for African countries which have not looked into other energy sources. On the other hand, a developing nation whose diesel prices are low provides an economic advantage for its citizens.

Low energy prices benefit Africa’s economy, society, and environment. A low diesel costs, in particular, is very instrumental to lowering the cost of operating a range of businesses, including transportation, manufacturing, and agriculture.

Diesel fuel is an important source of energy for many African countries, particularly those that are struggling to construct conventional energy infrastructure.

If the economy is heavily reliant on diesel and there are few alternatives to diesel-powered engines, the high cost of diesel may create financial hardship. However, if this issue is addressed, there is financial relief that ripples across the market network, ultimately ensuring that the cost of living is not excessive.

With that in mind, these are the ten African countries with the cheapest diesel according to Global Petrol Prices.

The list was last updated on 12, August, with the global average price for diesel standing at 1.23 U.S dollars per liter compared to 1.25 U.S. Dollars per liter in July.

Diesel prices remained the same between August and July for Libya Algeria and Sudan. The prices went up for Egypt Tunisia, Nigeria Ghana, and Gabon, while the diesel price for Angola dipped slightly.

Additionally, Ethiopia replaced Liberia on the list of 10 African countries with the cheapest diesel.
