North America: Canada

Canada boasts the most powerful passport in North America, granting its holders visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 173 destinations. This ranking underscores Canada’s strong diplomatic relations and global mobility privileges.

Europe: Spain

Spain ranks highest in Europe, with Spanish passport holders enjoying access to 178 countries without a visa. The country’s robust international agreements and membership in the European Union contribute to its extensive travel freedoms.

Middle East: UAE

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has secured the top spot in the Middle East, offering its citizens visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 179 destinations. This reflects the UAE’s extensive diplomatic efforts and strong global partnerships.

South America: Brazil

Brazil holds the most powerful passport in South America, allowing access to 165 countries without a prior visa. Its well-established diplomatic networks contribute to this ranking.

Africa: Seychelles

Seychelles continues to lead Africa with its passport providing access to 148 destinations. This ranking highlights Seychelles’ strategic international relationships and emphasis on global connectivity.

Oceania:

New Zealand holds the strongest passport in Oceania, granting its citizens visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 174 destinations. Its global reputation for stability and strong diplomatic ties enhances its passport strength.

As of 2025, several African nations have significantly improved their passport rankings, granting their citizens greater global mobility.

According to the 2025 Henley Passport Index, Seychelles holds the most powerful passport in Africa, ranking 25th globally with access to 156 destinations. Mauritius follows at 29th with visa-free entry to 151 destinations, while South Africa ranks 48th with access to 106 countries.
