The rise of private 5G networks is rapidly becoming a cornerstone of Industry 4.0, enabling factories and industrial sites to operate with unprecedented speed, reliability, and security.

Unlike public 5G, private 5G provides dedicated, low-latency connectivity within a defined area, allowing real-time automation, seamless integration of IoT sensors, AI-driven predictive maintenance, and enhanced workforce safety. These networks drive operational efficiency, data sovereignty, and smart manufacturing use cases that traditional wireless systems simply cannot support.

A recent example is the collaboration between e& UAE and EMSTEEL Group, where the company’s deployed one of the first advanced private 5G networks tailored for manufacturing. The pilot supports high-speed coverage across complex industrial environments and enables applications like the Asset Insight platform, which gives workers real-time equipment data via QR codes and boosts maintenance efficiency while reducing downtime.

This deployment not only aligns with EMSTEEL’s Industry 4.0 ambitions but also reinforces the UAE’s broader drive towards digital transformation and sustainable industrial growth.

Through initiatives like the UAE Industry 4.0 program, which is a part of the broader Operation 300Bn industrial strategy, the UAE aims to accelerate digital transformation across its industrial sectors, enhance productivity by around 30%, attract hundreds of tech companies, and boost the industrial contribution to GDP significantly by 2031.
