These new forums are full of cutting-edge features that make posting, browsing, and communicating with other members easy and enjoyable. You can even install the VCF iOS and Android app for convenient access on mobile devices.
Many of you probably remember the old VC Forums, which unexpectedly went offline in January, and wonder what happened with them. The short answer is that the old forums’ (very) outdated software failed to run on the new servers to which I moved all VC sites. After frustrating attempts to fix the old forum’s multiple issues and salvage its data, it became evident that the best long-term solution was to rebuild the forums from the ground up using modern software.
I realize that the abrupt shutting down of the old forums caught many of you off guard (including me), and the loss of thousands of posts was upsetting. Hopefully, these new forums will provide a much better experience, as all issues regarding bots, spam, security, software updates, and user registrations are handled much more efficiently.
In short, these forums are a major upgrade in every way and should finally provide the VC community with the forums it deserves.
