This short video is a quick look into the beauty of Pinneys Beach in Nevis.

There are those magical beaches. You know them when you see them. The water shimmers. It dazzles The sand is almost impossibly soft. And when you peer out, you see the silhouettes of earby islands like the shadows of titans.

Pinneys Beach in Nevis is one of them. I remember the first time I visited so many years ago — it was exotic, it was enchanting. And that’s still true.

The signature stretch of sand at the Four Seasons Resort Nevis is a golden-hued wonder, where the volcanic sand somehow feels like its massaging its feet, and the views are magnificent in every direction, whether you’re looking across the channel to St Kitts or gazing up the hillside to the imposing, timeless beauty of the Nevis Peak volcano.

It extends beyond the resort, to the lovely little collection of beach bars at the far end of the beach, anchored by the legendary Sunshine’s, a place that produces what I’ve called the best rum punch in the Caribbean: the Killer Bee.

Nevis itself has an ethereal quality, one that largely comes from the mountain: the way the clouds dance around the summit, the sweet mountain air, the sheer vibrance of the flowers and the trees.

Nevis Peak may be dormant, but its energy is palpable. It’s one of those rare places that, while stationary, remain eminently watchable. You just can’t look away.

Because Nevis is alive, dynamic, powerful. It makes you feel different. It makes you feel better.

And it starts right on this beach.
