Consulting Engineers South Africa (CESA) has announced the launch of the 2024 CESA Aon Engineering Excellence Awards, set to take place on 14 August 2024, at Vodacom World, in Midrand. This event will recognise outstanding engineering achievements and contributions to infrastructure development in South Africa.

Chris Campbell, CEO of CESA explains: “The awards showcase the innovation and engineering excellence present in our country, through our member firms and their clients, and demonstrate what is possible in unlocking infrastructure development in South Africa. Innovation and collaboration are critical in solving South Africa’s infrastructure challenges – unlocking economic growth, creating employment opportunities, and improving livelihoods.”
This year’s event is being hosted in partnership with Aon South Africa, the Platinum Title Sponsor of the awards. Over its 52-year history, the awards have significantly impacted the engineering landscape in South Africa, celebrating both individual and team achievements. “The 2024 awards will continue this legacy, spotlighting projects and professionals that have made significant contributions to the field. Our goal is to showcase the diverse talents and groundbreaking work of South African engineers,” said Campbell.
“As we prepare for this year’s event, we remain committed to highlighting achievements that push the boundaries of what is possible in engineering and what can be achieved to enhance infrastructure in our country,” Campbell explains.

Dr. Nolwandle Mgoqi, CEO of Aon South Africa, adds: “We are excited to celebrate innovation and collaboration once again as the headline sponsor at the 2024 Aon CESA Engineering Excellence Awards. These prestigious awards play a crucial role in recognising outstanding engineering achievements and significant contributions to infrastructure development in South Africa.”

“Our world has become more volatile – economically, socially, and geopolitically – than ever before. In an interconnected and interdependent world, organisations and individuals are under constant pressure to make complex business decisions, sometimes without all the necessary facts — and almost always at speed.
“At Aon, we provide our clients with the advice and solutions that give them the clarity and confidence to make better decisions to protect and grow their business. Together, we honour the brilliant minds shaping our nation’s future, fostering economic growth and sustainability in every facet of our society. We believe that business and sectors thrive when the communities they serve and the people they employ also flourish,” Dr. Mgoqi concludes.
