Tetra Pak Powers Hydration and Sustainability at Nairobi Marathon

Tetra Pak East Africa will once again serve as the official hydration partner at the Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon, Kenya’s only World Athletics Road Race Label-certified marathon, set for Sunday, October 26, 2025.

This year, the race has attracted over 30,000 runners, including more than 200 elite athletes and international participants.

Tetra Pak will provide Sh7 million worth of water in eco-friendly packaging, underscoring its commitment to sustainability.

“This partnership isn’t just about keeping runners refreshed,” said Stella Ondimu, Head of Communications, Tetra Pak East Africa. “It’s about championing health, resilience, and sustainability in one of Africa’s most inspiring sporting arenas.”

A Growing Sporting Legacy

Since its founding in 2003, the Nairobi Marathon has become one of Africa’s most iconic road races, bringing together participants from 92 countries and backed by 43 sponsors.

Standard Chartered’s US$1 million contribution, alongside KES 103 million in sponsorship support, shows the scale of investment behind the event.

Tetra Pak’s role goes beyond hydration. More than 10 of its employees will join the race, reflecting the company’s dedication to wellness and community engagement.
