Telecom Egypt, the country’s main telecom services operator, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Indian healthcare technology company KareXpert to launch a comprehensive digital healthcare platform managed through a secure national cloud hosted within Egypt.
The partners say the platform will combine a hospital information management system (HIMS) with unified electronic medical records and provide comprehensive revenue cycle management solutions. This will give hospitals a unified view of their clinical and administrative data, enhancing operational efficiency.
KareXpert says its solutions are distinguished by their seamless integration with existing systems within medical facilities and a unified digital payment path that simplifies billing procedures and accelerates revenue collection. They also fully maintain data privacy and comply with regulatory standards.
The secure local hosting ensures complete sovereignty over health information, while the cloud infrastructure allows future scalability to incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
This collaboration, says Telecom Egypt, aligns with its strategy to utilise technology and build high-value strategic partnerships to deliver top-tier digital solutions.
As Mohamed Nasr, Managing Director and CEO, Telecom Egypt, explains: “We are transferring our technical expertise to the healthcare sector by offering hospitals a reliable, easy-to-deploy platform that protects patient data privacy and doubles operational efficiency, contributing to Egypt’s 2030 vision for sustainable digital transformation.”
Commercially operational since 2021, KareXpert is operational in 500-plus hospitals and medical centres, serving over 15 million patients across six countries. It counts among its users India’s largest public and private healthcare providers.
