Startup owners running brightest and most innovative technology enterprises from Africa have a chance to join a regional pitch competition that would see them win vital investment and the support needed to scale their innovations.

The 2025 Regional Pitch Competition, which will also be carried out in Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, USA, China, India, and ASEAN countries, is aimed at tech startups in the Seed and Series A stages that have a great potential to scale.

According to an update, the winners drawn from these eight regions will have the chance to pitch their businesses to a panel of investors, industry leaders, and global decision-makers in April next year.

This opportunity for innovators from Africa follows the unveiling of the 2025 Regional Pitch Competition under the AIM Congress 2025. Every year, thousands of policymakers, government officials, international organizations, startups and entrepreneurs from around the world gather in Abu Dhabi to share innovative experiences and ideas during the AIM Congress.

Global Startup Showdown

In this edition, the participating startup owners will start with regional competitions on December 18 and culminate in a grand finale at the April 7-9, 2025, AIM Congress.

The 2025 startup pitch competition promises to be a vital platform for emerging innovators to take their business ideas to the international stage.

According to AIM Congress 2025, winners from the regional contests will advance to join the finalists of the Global Startup Showdown, and compete for one last time in Abu Dhabi in April.

According to the organizers of AIM Congress 2025, the winners of the final rounds will receive a guaranteed investment, ensuring the support they need to scale their startups. Overall, AIM Congress will be promoting a total of $200,000 in investments across the event, further underscoring the show’s dedication to nurturing and fostering global entrepreneurship.

Over the years, AIM Congress has been on a mission to empower startups across the industries and helping connect the founders with strategic investors to catalyse growth opportunities.

Applications for the regional competitions open on December 18, 2024, and close on February 15, 2025, while entries for the main AIM competition will remain open until February 28, 2025.

Final pitch for tech starups during AIM Congress 2025

The final pitch rounds will take place on April 7-8, 2025, with an awards ceremony scheduled for April 9, 2025, during AIM Congress. This initiative further solidifies AIM Congress’s commitment to driving innovation and supporting the growth of global startups.

“This competition highlights our mission to connect startups with the resources, networks, and investment opportunities they need to succeed,” said Walid Farghal, Director General of AIM Congress. “We look forward to welcoming innovative entrepreneurs from across the globe to this year’s event.”

The 14th edition of the AIM Congress will be held in Abu Dhabi from April 7 to 9, 2025, with more than 25,000 prominent figures from 180 countries around the world expected to attend.

They will feature a range of events, forums, panel discussions, workshops, high-level meetings, an exhibition, the AIM Investment Awards, the Startup Competition, and country investment presentations, covering eight main portfolios: Foreign Direct Investment, Global Trade, Startups and Unicorns, Future Cities, Future Finance, Global Manufacturing, Digital Economy, and Entrepreneurs.
