The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a planned six-hour power outage in certain areas of Oyo State.

Ndidi Mbah, TCN’s spokesperson, shared this information in a statement released on Monday. She explained that the blackout is necessary for maintenance work on one of the company’s 60 megavolt-ampere 132/33 kilovolt power transformers at the Ayede Transmission Substation, which is set for Tuesday, July 8, 2025.

“The maintenance will occur from 10 AM to 4 PM. As a result, Ibadan DisCo will not be able to supply electricity to customers in Eleyele, Lanlate, and Apata during this time,” she said.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to customers relying on the transformer. We appreciate your understanding as our maintenance team works to ensure a safe environment. Power will be restored immediately after the maintenance is completed,” she added.
