The recent Mental State of the World Report reveals that Tanzanian youth exhibit exceptional mental well-being, achieving a Mental Health Quotient (MHQ) score above 60—the highest globally. This comprehensive study analyzed over one million responses across 76 countries, highlighting that while high-income nations face declining mental health among 18- to 34-year-olds, several African countries, including Tanzania, Nigeria, and Kenya, demonstrate stronger mental resilience. Factors such as close-knit family structures and communal living are credited for providing emotional stability to African youth.
