TJNA Hosts Second Anti-IFFs Policy Tracker Workshop in Uganda
Tax Justice Network Africa (TJNA) will host its second Anti-IFFs Policy Tracker piloting workshop from March 19 to 21 in Kampala, Uganda.
The workshop, in collaboration with the African Union Economic Development, Trade, Tourism, Industry, and Minerals Department (AU-ETTIM) and the Africa Tax Administration Forum (ATAF), will assess Uganda’s efforts in tackling illicit financial flows (IFFs).
Strengthening Uganda’s Financial Oversight
Illicit financial flows remain a major challenge to Africa’s economic development and governance. The Anti-IFFs Policy Tracker focuses on four areas: policy and legislative frameworks, institutional structures, data systems, and interagency cooperation.
This workshop will help Uganda’s government institutions evaluate existing policies, pinpoint high-risk areas, and develop strategies for financial transparency. The tracker provides measurable indicators and recommendations, enabling participants to assess progress and identify reforms.
TJNA’s approach ensures that efforts to combat IFFs remain data-driven, objective, and standardized. By improving financial oversight, Uganda can safeguard public resources and enhance economic stability.

A Roadmap for Regional Action
Findings from the workshop will contribute to Africa’s broader anti-IFFs strategy. TJNA will present the outcomes at the African Union 3rd Subcommittee on Taxation and IFFs in May 2025.
This initiative marks a crucial step in Africa’s ongoing battle against illicit financial flows. Strengthening financial governance will promote accountability, attract investment, and foster sustainable economic growth across the continent.
By empowering policymakers with the right tools and data, TJNA is paving the way for stronger financial systems that benefit all Africans.
