Stitch, a payments company based in South Africa, has acquired ExiPay, an in-person payments provider also operating in South Africa, to enhance its enterprise payments offering.
This acquisition allows Stitch to offer both online and in-person payments on a single unified platform, catering to the growing demand for seamless and personalised shopping experiences, whether online or offline.
Stitch’s expanded platform is designed to support multi-lane retail and omnichannel businesses.

“We’re excited to bring the ExiPay solution into the Stitch payments suite, enabling enterprise merchants to offer a seamless and reliable payments experience no matter where their customers choose to shop, and manage all their transactions in one place. ExiPay has built a strong solution that, combined with our existing online payments platform, will allow us to serve our clients from a much more holistic perspective, supporting them across every payments touchpoint they have with their customers,”
said Junaid Dadan, Co-founder and President of Stitch.
With the acquisition, Stitch now offers in-person payments, allowing enterprise businesses to accept card-present transactions and alternative online payment methods at point of sale.
Merchants can continue using their existing terminals or opt for new devices certified by Stitch, including P2PE certification.
The service supports all major acquiring banks and offers easy integration, ensuring the same flexibility and support as Stitch’s online payment solutions.
ExiPay’s existing contracts with several enterprise clients and PSPs in South Africa and other African markets, including Bash/The Foschini Group (TFG), will be maintained.
Stitch will now serve Bash for both online and in-person payments, alongside other ExiPay clients.
Stitch’s In-person payments solution allows card-present transactions using Stitch’s reliable card solution, which integrates directly with multiple banks and networks for automated failovers and higher uptime.
Merchants can also use Stitch to offer a variety of online payment methods at point of sale or through e-commerce.
This solution is ideal for retail merchants operating in-store, those with both online and in-store presences, omnichannel retailers, and merchants in the financial services or gaming sectors who wish to accept in-person and online payments or wallet top-ups.
