In collaboration with EYouth and with support from Google.org, the charitable arm of Google, a multinational technology company, SPARK has launched the Maharat for Tourism E-Learning Hub in Egypt.
Maharat for Tourism offers free, high-quality training for tourism professionals, including digital skills, business management, and customer service, to stay competitive in the job market. This initiative contributes to Egypt’s economic resilience and job creation in a vital industry.
At the debut event, which took place at Cairo’s Triumph Plaza Hotel, more than 100 stakeholders were present, including leaders in the business, experts in digital learning, and representatives from Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism.
The innovative platform aims to equip 25,000 people in the MENA region with necessary tourism sector skills, boosting Egypt’s workforce competitiveness and promoting industry expansion, aligning with national goals.
Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism recognizes its role in modernizing workforce training and driving long-term industry sustainability.
“We are proud to launch the Maharat for Tourism E-Learning Hub, which will provide thousands of individuals with the opportunity to develop essential skills for success in the tourism sector,” said Dina Almasaeid, SPARK’s Regional Programme Director.
The support from Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism further emphasizes the industry-wide commitment to fostering talent and innovation.”
