The Blockchain Futurist Conference kicked off yesterday in Toronto, Canada. SHIB lead developer Shytoshi Kusama was one of the speakers yesterday who spoke for about five minutes. However, many fans were disappointed as Kusama did not launch Shiba Inu’s Shibarium network yesterday, as many believed he would. Nonetheless, Kusama has now hinted that the highly anticipated network might debut today.
DogPad Finance, a project on Shibarium, has shared a Discord message reply from Kusama. Kusama said, “Why would I release on a 5 min talk when we have a 16 keynote tomorrow.”

The message has led many to believe that Shibarium might see the light of day today, Aug. 16. The layer-2 network’s launch has been pushed back multiple times due to developmental delays.
Will Shiba Inu’s price rally upon Shibarium’s launch?
SHIB is one of the best-performing cryptos in the weekly charts, having been up by 6.1% in the last seven days. SHIB is only behind ThorChain (RUNE), Toncoin (TON), Radix (XRD), and Frax Share (FXS).
However, if Shibarium is indeed launched today, Shiba Inu (SHIB) prices could see a sharp increase. The launch is one of the most anticipated in the crypto space and is expected to reflect in asset price movement.

However, given that the larger market is not moving in a positive direction, SHIB’s rally could be a short-lived one. Nonetheless, the network could bring more demand for the project, thereby eventually increasing the price. At press time, SHIB was trading at $0.00001006, down by 1.9% in the last 24 hours.
