Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has directed the Dubai Land Department (DLD) and the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA) to provide temporary housing, food, and enhanced security free of charge to residents affected by recent weather conditions.

This initiative is part of a series of measures approved by the Crown Prince to mitigate the impact of severe weather in Dubai.

As per the directives, residential management companies and real estate developers must offer free temporary housing, distribute food within affected communities, and assist residents in returning to their properties.

Additionally, services such as interior cleaning, monitoring and documenting damages caused by the rains during the insurance coverage period, and assessing potential risks to properties are to be provided by real estate developers.

Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that he will personally oversee the progress of these measures and assured that on-ground teams will provide support to all citizens and residents affected by the weather.

A new committee, comprising senior officials from Dubai’s community development authority, RTA, DEWA, and DET, has also been formed to further support those affected.

In a video message shared on his social media channels, Sheikh Hamdan expressed gratitude to all who have contributed to the city’s recovery efforts.

He specifically thanked those who have worked tirelessly to support the community after Dubai experienced its worst rain on record, which led to flooding in several areas, grounded flights, and necessitated remote working and learning arrangements across the city.

The Crown Prince’s announcement reflects Dubai’s commitment to the well-being of its residents and underscores the importance of collective support during challenging times.
