During the meeting which followed at Maison Quéau de Quinssy, Minister Radegonde commended the UNFPA for the support offered to the country, in particular to the youths who have benefitted from tailored training, life skills education and counselling and monitoring on health-related issues, especially in reproductive health. “Although I appreciate the work that has been done so far, I am excited at the possibility of what we can further achieve if we pool our resources together”, added the Minister.

On her part, Ms. Yaguibou expressed that she is “looking forward to working with the relevant stakeholders, in particularly to develop programmes for less empowered men and boys to allow them to participate and contribute to the economy”. Both parties agreed that the tourism industry is one sector where this initiative would work.

Additionally, it was agreed that with the signing of the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF), developmental issues concerning youths, women and health can be tackled to ensure that the economy remains competitive.

Minister Radegonde ended the meeting by wishing Ms. Yaguibou success during her tenure.
