Kenya’s top professional golfers will battle for crucial qualification points this week as the PGK Equator Tour enters its final leg at Royal Nairobi Golf Club.
The par-72 course will host the season finale from Thursday, January 22, to Sunday, January 25. A total of 35 golfers are expected to compete.
High Stakes in the Season Finale
The final leg comes at a decisive moment in the calendar. Players are chasing qualification slots for the 2026 Magical Kenya Open and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
Every stroke will count as the tour concludes in Nairobi.
Safaricom Tops Corporate Rankings
Safaricom Team leads the corporate standings with 7,575 points. Kenya Airways follows with 5,635 points, while Visa Team sits third with 4,745.
Johnnie Walker ranks fourth with 4,460 points. NCBA holds fifth place with 4,370, while Britam rounds out the table with 1,810 points.
Golfers to Watch at Royal Nairobi
Season standout Samuel Njoroge aims to cap off a strong campaign. Local favourites Mutahi Kibugu and Matthew Wahome will look to shine on home turf.
Meanwhile, Mohit Mediratta hopes to regain form and mount a serious title challenge.

Launched in July last year, the PGK Equator Tour has visited top courses across the country. These include Ruiru Sports Club, Limuru Country Club, Great Rift Valley Lodge, Nakuru Golf Club, Diamond Leisure Golf Resort, and Sigona Golf Club.
The tour has helped raise professional standards while growing fan engagement.
Safaricom Reaffirms Commitment to Golf
Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa praised the golfers for their resilience and performance.
“We are proud to support these exceptional golfers as they pursue Olympic qualification,” he said. “They showcase the talent Kenya can produce when given the right platform.”
Safaricom has committed KES 3 million to support Njoroge, Mediratta, Kibugu, and Wahome. The investment has boosted competitiveness and visibility across the tour.
As the season concludes at Royal Nairobi, fans can expect elite competition and a fitting finale to a growing chapter in Kenyan professional golf.
