Safaricom Launches M-PESA Sokoni Festival with Exciting Customer Offers

Safaricom has launched the M-PESA Sokoni Festival , a new campaign offering exciting deals to customers across Kenya. The two-month festival is part of the M-PESA at 18 celebrations and also contributes to Safaricom’s 25th anniversary activities.

The festival features massive discounts on a variety of products including devices, electronics, fashion, travel, beauty, and household items. Over 150 local and national businesses will participate, giving customers access to “deals kuruka” during festival events countrywide.

“M-PESA Sokoni is more than just a marketplace,” said Safaricom CEO, Dr. Peter Ndegwa. “It’s a family-friendly event where customers can shop, enjoy entertainment, and interact directly with business owners.”

The campaign will kick off in Mombasa with several community-driven events. These include Safire Connect, a forum on personal branding and financial wellness, and Wezesha Mama, an M-PESA Foundation initiative to train women’s groups and offer seed capital to boost their businesses.

Safaricom will also recognize top-performing M-PESA agents through regional awards and run Grow with Safaricom forums. These forums will empower SMEs by addressing digital transformation, market access, branding, and other challenges.
