Safaricom In Partnership With Huawei Kenya Conduct A Graduation Ceremony For a AI Training Challenge

Huawei Kenya Women in Technology team In partnership with Safaricom Women in Technology Team held the AI Training Challenge graduation ceremony.

Training 70 individuals, the AI training challenge was a 2-month program held on July 2024 – September 2024.  The challenge whose target audience were ladies currently studying STEM related courses in university was completed successfully and were trained under the Huawei ICT Academy Pillar.

“Being a part of this incredible program has been my highlight this year and I’m forever grateful for the opportunity. I love how the Safaricom and Huawei team made the entire study program smooth and easy for me since they were reachable at all times and very friendly of which its something not very common in the industries. Looking forward to impacting more people with the knowledge gained and the soft skills acquired.” Hope Mutanu, AI Training Challenge Graduate.

Striving for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion- the women in technology movement has been able to achieve great results, with an increase in the number of women taking up STEM courses in the university and taking up more technical roles in the industry across different professional levels. Different activities that comprise of training and mentorship programs, have contributed greatly in achieving these results.

Whilst this can be accomplished at a single organization capacity, working in partnership with others has contributed greatly to accomplishing even greater milestones.

The partnership long-standing partnership between Safaricom Women in technology team and Huawei Women in technology team, continues to foster great opportunities for women in STEM, building capacity and mentorship to upcoming young leaders.
