Safaricom Chapa Dimba All-Stars Boys Win Opening Match in Spain
The Safaricom Chapa Dimba All-Stars Boys’ team has kicked off their elite training camp in Spain with a statement victory. The side overpowered SD Huesca’s U23 team 6-1 in a friendly match at the Huesca Academy Grounds.
Strong Start on the Pitch
Brian Aroka opened the scoring early, before Derrick Oketch doubled the lead just before halftime. In the second half, Dennis Okumu struck twice, while Felix Munguti added his name to the scoresheet.
Relentless pressure from David Wanyama forced an own goal from the hosts. Huesca managed a consolation goal in the 89th minute through Nicolas Lopez.
Coach Gabriel Infante praised the Kenyan side’s energy and discipline but noted that finishing remains an area for improvement.
“They created many opportunities but missed several clear chances. The score could have been much higher, but that’s part of the learning process,” he said.

SD Huesca U23 player Alex Rivas described the match as a great experience.
“They are physical, fast, and play with passion and freedom. They pushed me hard and made me run.”
Learning Beyond the Game
The match marked the second day of the training camp. Earlier, the players attended masterclasses and morning drills on transitions, passing, and finishing.
Reflecting on the match, striker Derrick Oketch said:
“We overpowered our opponents with our pace. Our finishing still needs sharpening, but we will improve before the camp ends.”
From the girls’ team, Hellen Mito and Martha Simiyu Nafula trained with the SD Huesca Senior Ladies, joining them in both gym work and field sessions.
The camp continues today with visits to Podoactiva, the Zaragoza Centre, and the Aragonese Federation. Later, the boys will face Valdefierro CF, while the girls’ team takes on Zaragoza CFF.
