Safaricom Backs Faith Kipyegon’s 4-Minute Mile Bid

Safaricom  https://www.safaricom.co.ke/has launched a special KES 4 YouTube bundle to support Faith Kipyegon as she attempts to break the 4-minute mile barrier on Thursday, June 26, at Stade Charléty in Paris. Kenyans can stream the race live by dialing *544# to access 4GB of YouTube data.

This offer aims to rally nationwide support for Faith, who serves as Safaricom’s brand ambassador. The bundle allows fans to watch the race on phones, tablets, or smart TVs.

Safaricom will also stream the race live at Baniyas Square in Eldoret to bring the experience to more fans.

Celebrating a Kenyan Icon

Faith’s partnership with Safaricom began in 2023 when the company awarded her KES 2 million for her historic double world record. Her image was displayed on the KICC to honor her achievement.

In 2024, Safaricom unveiled her as the face of its “Sisi Wote Ni Mabingwa” campaign, which celebrates Kenyan champions across various fields.

“Faith Kipyegon reflects Kenya’s ambition and excellence. She is aiming to become the first woman ever to run a mile in under four minutes. We’re proud to support her and bring Kenyans together to cheer her on,” said Safaricom CEO Dr. Peter Ndegwa.

Faith holds the world records in the 1500m and 5000m races, having broken both at Diamond League events in Florence and Paris. Her attempt at the mile record is another opportunity to etch her name in history.

Kenyans are encouraged to share words of support using #KenyaForFaith on social media. As Faith steps onto the track in Paris, she carries the hopes of a nation proud of her journey.

Whether watching from home or gathering in Eldoret, millions will stand behind her with pride and anticipation.
