From AI diagnostics and digital NHI to telemedicine and smart hospital infrastructure, the summit is tailored for professionals who are actively working to modernise African healthcare systems.
“Africa doesn’t need more theory. It needs scalable solutions,” says Abe Wakama, CEO of IT News Africa. “HISA has always been about actionable insights and real-world implementation. The 10th edition will mark a milestone in our journey to enable connected, patient-centric care across the continent.”
The event is expected to attract hundreds of senior attendees from both the public and private sectors, including hospital CEOs, CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, health policymakers, IT service providers, medical practitioners, healthcare innovators, and pharmaceutical executives, as well as local and international attendees. Previous editions have welcomed leading institutions such as the NHS (UK), Netcare, Mediclinic Southern Africa, Life Healthcare Group, Lenmed, Busamed, the Gauteng and Western Cape Departments of Health, as well as major academic hospitals like Chris Hani Baragwanath, Groote Schuur, Steve Biko, and Charlotte Maxeke. Attendees can expect an engaging programme featuring keynote addresses, panel discussions, case study presentations, and an Innovation Showcase. Agenda highlights include: scaling telemedicine for rural Africa, implementing digital NHI, exploring real-world AI use cases, developing smart hospital ecosystems, ensuring data security and POPIA compliance, and leveraging technology to reduce fraud, waste, and abuse in healthcare delivery.

“HISA is the only platform in Africa that places healthcare innovation at the intersection of technology, policy, and business,” Wakama adds. “It’s where strategy meets execution. If your solutions support digital transformation in healthcare, HISA is where you need to be.”
