FS1 is welcoming Rachel Nichols as the newest face on their show “Undisputed,” according to sources from Sports Business Journal. Nichols is set to join the panel, offering her insights and engaging in fiery debates alongside veteran commentator Skip Bayless.
Joining Nichols in this new chapter of “Undisputed” is the former NFL star Richard Sherman. This reshuffling follows the exit of long-standing panelist Shannon Sharpe in June, a departure stemming from increasingly heated on-air disputes with Bayless. Rather than replacing Sharpe with one consistent co-host, FS1 has decided to introduce a dynamic format where Bayless interacts with a diverse rotation of panelists. There’s ongoing speculation, based on reports, that sports personalities Michael Irvin and Keyshawn Johnson might also be joining the mix.
Sherman was recently announced as a new addition to the show on FS1
Nichols boasts a rich journalism career, with tenures at prestigious networks like ESPN and CNN/Turner Sports. Beginning her journey with ESPN in 2004, Nichols initially reported on NFL and NBA developments. She later transitioned to CNN/Turner Sports in 2013, contributing to news segments and covering NBA games for TNT, in addition to Turner’s coverage of the NCAA tournament.
2016 saw her return to ESPN to spearhead “The Jump,” a daily NBA-focused show. However, her tenure with ESPN came to a halt after a 2021 New York Times piece discussed leaked audio recordings where Nichols commented on colleague Maria Taylor’s promotion, linking it to diversity initiatives.
Following the public response to the incident, Nichols and ESPN settled, which led to her departure. Since then, Nichols has made appearances as a Showtime host and lent her expertise to CNN.
