Custom single-cab conversions offer practical solutions for safe storage and transport across a variety of industries and businesses. Toyota-engineered alterations are now available through Hilux Custom Builds to ensure uncompromising performance.

Industries that rely on practical, reliable single cabs, whether that’s agriculture, mining, construction, field services, or logistics, often require configurations that differ from the norm.
To cater to these needs, Toyota South Africa Motors has introduced Hilux Custom Builds (HCB), a fully integrated conversion programme that brings purpose-built, Toyota-engineered solutions directly into the Toyota product offering.
Factory-backed, full warranty
When your business and livelihood depend on the quality and integrity of your vehicle, any uncertainty of its reliability must be eliminated. That’s why HCB has been developed entirely in-house to offer a factory-backed conversion service.
Working within Toyota Motor Corporation’s Conversion Vehicle Partner Programme, each build begins with a dedicated flat-deck Hilux 2.4 GD-6 4X2 or 4X4 base unit to which the custom configurations are added. These alterations have been tested against original equipment standards, and the vehicles are supported by Toyota’s three-year/100 000km warranty, just like the base vehicle.
Different configurations for different industries
The HCB consists of modular add-ons, including dropsides, cargo rails, canopies, and dry boxes, all tested by Toyota to ensure seamless integration, structural integrity, and uncompromising performance.
The HCB dropsides are available in either Toyota-grade steel or aluminium, delivering exceptional load-carrying capacity, a three-way access system, a flat deck, and a header board for maximum efficiency.
HCB cargo rails are available with optional dropside adaptability. Offered with half and full-gate setups, the 44mm tubular frame provides rigidity, making it ideal for versatile loading and livestock transportation. And, should you need it, the HCB cargo rails configuration offers a heavy-duty design built for superior durability, even under the most demanding conditions.
Professionals who require more technical canopies for their fleets can choose from a variety of HCB conversions that are adaptable to support a range of operational setups. From canopy-only units to canopies with half dropsides, or half dropsides with a lid, these welded aluminium bodies ensure secure, organised storage for industrial and field applications.
A range of operational setups, such as roof rails, a standard water tank, and rear access, are also available.
HCB also offers enclosed, weatherproof cargo protection in the form of its dry box conversion.
Full value recognised in future resale
HCB is available through Toyota’s official accessories and fleet dealer network. Conversions can be ordered with the vehicle and delivered as a complete, ready-to-work unit that’s invoiced with the Hilux itself. This means its full value is recognised in future resale, offering customers a more transparent and predictable ownership cycle.
Find the perfect HCB configuration for your business by visiting the Toyota HCB website, your nearest Toyota dealership, or by contacting your nearest Toyota Fleet or Accessories representative for more information.
