Despite policies Despite the recent increase in prices of electricity-prepaid meters, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has said customers, who made payment under the Meter Asset Providers (MAPs) scheme will not be affected.
Speaking in Abuja, the Managing Director of AEDC, Christopher Ezeafulukwe, said the company would be committed to implementing business strategies that would be beneficial and improve service delivery.
The cost of meters has surged, with a single-phase meter now priced at N81,975.16, from N58,661.69, while a three-phase meter has increased to N143,836.10 from N109,684.36.
Ezeafulukwe said customers who had made payment wouldn’t bear the burden of the new rate.
Attending to issues affecting customers at a Customer Complaints and Engagement Forum, he said that good service delivery would remain a priority for the organisation.
He reiterated the essence of teamwork in meeting customers’ needs, adding that end-users as special stakeholders.
The organisation, while taking a safety sensitisation campaign to Junior Secondary School Dutse, Sagwari Abuja, stressed the need for an accident-free use of electricity.
The Chief Marketing Officer, Donald Etim, who led the team, emphasised the need for a safe use of electricity at all times.
