The rebuttal is a direct response to Dangote Refinery’s recent allegations that a major petroleum depot has opened a facility near the refinery, sparking concerns about the quality of fuel being produced.

Pinnacle oil denies engaging in importing or distributing substandard products

Dangote was responding to allegations by petroleum marketers, that it was selling petrol above the import price.

In an earlier publication, Business Insider Africa reported that Dangote refinery had raised alarm over the influx of substandard products into the country.

The refinery also accused the Nigerian oil regulator, the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) of not having the adequate facilities to run quality checks on fuel products imported into the country.

Dangote refinery had raised alarm over the influx of substandard products into the country.

While responding to Dangote’s claims, the management of Pinnacle oil, in a statement debunked the allegations.

The company denied distributing low quality products to Nigerians adding that it always acted in strict compliance with existing regulations.

“Pinnacle Oil & Gas has the only depot facility next to the Dangote Refinery. Without equivocation, we state that Pinnacle Oil & Gas would never engage or attempt to import or distribute any off-spec or substandard product into the Nigerian market.” the company maintained

The oil and gas firm said it welcomed a system of multiple buyers and sellers as the oil sector now operated in a deregulated environment.

Pinnacle Oil & Gas also pushed for more purchase options for Nigerians when it comes to fuel supply, whether it’s imported or locally refined. It added that by allowing competition in the market, the most competitive and sustainable price will emerge, benefiting consumers.
