Pearl Lam Galleries is pleased to announce its global representation of artist Alimi Adewale (b. 1974, Nigeria).  A selection of his works will be presented during ART SG 2024 this January. His inclusion in Pearl Lam Galleries’ artist roster exemplifies the gallery’s dedication to cultivating a vibrant and dynamic art scene that resonates with the global art community.

Adewale’s work delves into the depths of the African experience. His sculptures cultivate the experiential function of art compared to the traditional African sculptures while incorporating elements of minimalism and abstraction to create a collection of work that is distinctly current. Adewale is also a philanthropist and humanitarian as he has exhibited his work for charity in various homes and centers of abandoned children who are physically and mentally challenged.

Adewale’s latest series, Figurative Fusion, blends diverse artistic elements to offer a novel perspective on the expressive potential of the human form in modern art. Adewale’s artistic journey revolves around exploring African heritage, identity, and the human experience while inviting viewers to connect with the past, present, and future of the African continent as a whole.

He has expanded his artistic knowledge through international art workshops and employs painting, sculpture, and installation to critically examine the impact of urbanisation and the global economy on society. Adewale’s art strives to foster dialogue and cultural exchange, while celebrating the beauty and resilience of the African spirit. By showcasing the diverse cultures of Africa, he aims to contribute to a greater understanding and appreciation of the continent, forging connections that transcend borders and celebrate the interconnectedness of humanity.

Pearl Lam, the founder of Pearl Lam Galleries, is thrilled to welcome Adewale as an artist under their representation. “He is an exceptional artist with a distinct voice who brings a fresh global perspective and new dynamics into the art world”, Lam noted. He joins the gallery at a time when the gallery is expanding their international reach and is therefore in a great position to grow as an artist.
