Orange has teamed up with Synamedia to deliver a powerful multi-CDN streaming solution, extending content reach and ensuring high-quality, low-latency delivery across the Middle East and Africa.
By combining Orange’s CDN with Synamedia’s Quortex Switch platform, customers will benefit from a broader reach, particularly in the Middle East and Africa, where Orange has an extensive network.
Launching in March 2025, Quortex Switch’s API-based integration and advanced configuration capabilities offer unparalleled flexibility, allowing customers to expand their distribution without modifying their existing infrastructure or disrupting their current CDN partnerships. It allows them to streamline delivery based on Quality of Experience metrics and offers the ability to segment viewers by location.
Based on the latest content steering standards, the Quortex Switch SaaS solution simplifies the design of multi-CDN systems while facilitating low-latency, high-quality delivery and disaster recovery if necessary. It uses traffic balancing and intelligent content delivery to dynamically route end users to the best content sources. They also allow CDN switching midstream for an uninterrupted viewing experience.
The streaming market in Africa is expected to grow by 50% by 2030. Orange operates one of the most extensive and reliable CDN networks in the Middle East and Africa, enabling international content providers to expand securely, cost-effectively, and in compliance with local regulations. This infrastructure gives them a clear advantage in reaching high-growth and underserved markets in the region. This partnership also aligns with Orange’s strategic vision, which aims to support the growing demand for content in the region, while fostering new opportunities for collaboration within the CDN ecosystem.
