Ooredoo Algeria has taken a major new step in its commitment to innovation and the modernization of the telecommunications sector in Algeria, having been selected as one of the successful bidders for the establishment and operation of a 5G network.
This announcement was officially made in Algiers by the Competitive Tender Commission of the Regulatory Authority for Post and Electronic Communications (ARPCE), during a public session held in accordance with Article 15 of Executive Decree No. 01-124 of May 9, 2001.
Following the evaluation of the bids submitted by the applicants, based on the technical and financial criteria defined in the tender specifications, the Commission ranked the offer of Wataniya Telecom Algeria (Ooredoo) in second place. As a result, Ooredoo Algeria has been awarded a license for the establishment and operation of a public fifth-generation (5G) mobile electronic communications network, including the provision of related services.

This designation marks a strategic milestone for Ooredoo as it prepares to introduce this fifth-generation technology into Algeria’s digital landscape.
