Apply for Nuku Studio one to three month Art Residency program in Ghana, Tamale.
The Center for Photographic Research and Practice at Nuku Studio offers an Art Residency that provides a quiet and comfortable space for individuals to explore and try new things in a novel setting. Artists can work on a project of their choice during the one to three month residency program, either alone or in collaboration with other local and foreign artists.
Nuku’s Center for Photographic Research and Practice is located in the heart of Tamale, a fast growing and developing city in Northern Ghana. It is Nuku´s mission to engage with the local community in Tamale and to nurture a sustainable creative working environment. Nuku Studio is well connected to other art centres in Tamale such as the Savannah Center for Contemporary Art, Red Clay and the Center for National Culture which allows artists of different disciplines to come together and exchange ideas.
As part of the Nuku’s Art Residency, artists are expected to present their work produced during the time of the residency and hold a public artist talk. Residents have the possibility to exhibit their work at Nuku Studio and engage in Nuku’s Creative Community Education Program.
Nuku Studio’s Art Resideny is open to artists of various disciplines such as photography, visual arts, writing, music, film making, performance, curatorial and educational research.
