Norway and Denmark have joined Finland and Sweden in a military-optronics procurement initiative to acquire Senop-made products aimed at enhancing soldiers’ combat capabilities.
The agreement covers various Senop optronics systems, including night vision goggles, target acquisition devices, and intelligent fire control systems.
The collaboration enables partner countries to acquire advanced equipment more cost-effectively.
Finnish defense firm Senop emphasized that Norway and Denmark’s participation will strengthen Nordic defense cooperation, improve interoperability, and enhance supply security.
“The ability to operate in all visibility conditions is one of the key factors on the battlefield,” the company stated.
Night Vision Goggles
Senop’s night vision goggles are designed to enhance soldiers’ operational awareness in demanding environments.
The Senop EVA 40 night vision goggles improve visibility in low-light and battlefield conditions with a lightweight design for stability during movement and prolonged use.
Equipped with an internal infrared LED, they provide illumination in total darkness and enable target identification beyond 300 meters (984 feet) without additional adjustments.
Fire Control Systems
Senop produces several sights and fire control systems that enhance soldiers’ accuracy and performance in both day and night conditions.
The Advanced Fire Control Device Thermal Imager (AFCD TI) is a weapon sight designed for Saab’s Carl-Gustaf weapon system, enabling accurate targeting in all light conditions.
The AFCD TI integrates an uncooled thermal imager, a day camera, and an eye-safe laser rangefinder to support effective targeting.
It also features an inertial measurement unit and a ballistic computer with environmental sensors.
The weapon system’s electronic interface automatically provides information about the ammunition type, while the sight calculates the aiming point for stationary and moving targets.
