Nokia announced on Monday that South African ICT solutions provider Reflex will deploy its Broadband Network Gateway (BNG) solution to modernize and scale its network to enable faster onboarding of ISPs.
Reflex said that deploying Nokia’s 7750 SR-1 BNGs integrated with carrier-grade network address translation (NAT) will enable it to benefit from more efficient use of space and power as it gears up for continued expansion across South Africa – especially in underserved regions.
Charles Castle, commercial and sales executive at Reflex Carrier Solutions, added that the new BNGs will enable it to light up new services for ISPs in days instead of months.
“By integrating Nokia’s 7750 SR-1 Broadband Network Gateways and carrier-grade NAT into the Reflex backbone, we are adding capacity and intelligence while reducing space, power and complexity,” Castle said. “The result is a future-ready platform that is scalable, secure and always-on.”

The deal comes six months after Nokia, Reflex and ISP Net Nine Nine formed a partnership to expand affordable broadband services to underserved, low-income communities.
