The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has raised urgent concerns over the escalating vandalism of telecommunications infrastructure nationwide, highlighting its severe impact on vital services such as healthcare, mobile banking, education, and communication.

According to the NCC, more than 50,000 incidents of telecom infrastructure damage have been recorded over the last five years. This alarming trend threatens the country’s efforts to maintain reliable connectivity and promote digital inclusion.

In response, the NCC is urging the public to stay alert and report any suspicious activities.

“Damaging telecom infrastructure affects us all, from access to healthcare and mobile banking to education and staying connected with loved ones,” the NCC stressed, calling on all Nigerians to play an active role in safeguarding these critical assets essential for national progress.

This appeal aligns with ongoing initiatives by the NCC aimed at strengthening digital infrastructure, enhancing service quality, and ensuring that secure and dependable communications reach all corners of Nigeria.
